The Story
Formerly known as The Special Blend, The Lover's Blend is another example of what Tribe does best: roast classic, medium/dark espresso blends. Offering an alternative to its very popular flagship blend, this one has some slightly different flavour notes to enjoy.
It's quite sweet, with a honey-like characteristic. While it has some definite cocoa notes, it also had a subtle toasted sesame flavour to our palates which made it quite intriguing.
To get optimal results, we used quite short espresso extractions around 20s.
Roaster's notes
This coffee started as a love letter to remind a special person of South Africa and its amazing people and places. Then it was lost for a year … so too was the love … recently we rediscovered this blend when the lovers reunited.

- On the nose: Chocolate, honeysuckle, red cherries and a hint of yesterday’s sunshine
- Taste: Sweet and complex with long lingering flavour
